About Faith Reins

Faith Reins brings pediatric therapy, counseling, family support, and purposeful equine experiences together to help children and families thrive. Guided by faith, our mission is to expand access to exceptional care that nurtures physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Our pediatric programs serve children from birth through age 18, with families involved as partners in care.

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with a strong background in developmental communication, early intervention, infant feeding, and pediatric oral motor assessment and intervention.

The opportunity

Provide individualized evaluations and treatment that support feeding, early communication, speech, language, and functional communication throughout childhood and adolescence.

The ideal clinician brings relevant pediatric experience, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to turn assessment findings into practical treatment goals. You will partner with caregivers, other therapists, and referring providers while exercising independent professional judgment within your scope of practice.

This opportunity serves patients from birth through age 18. The caseload is exclusively pediatric.

Required qualifications

  • Minimum five years of relevant pediatric clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, excluding student placements.
  • Current, active, unrestricted Arkansas Speech-Language Pathology license, maintained throughout the contract.
  • Master’s degree or higher in speech-language pathology, or communication disorders with a speech-language pathology concentration.
  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating and treating articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, and developmental communication needs.
  • Direct experience providing early intervention services to infants and toddlers, including caregiver coaching and support for communication during everyday routines.
  • Documented training and clinical experience in infant and pediatric feeding assessment and intervention.
  • Documented training and clinical experience in pediatric oral motor assessment and intervention relevant to feeding.
  • Experience supporting communication in children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
  • Strong pediatric assessment, treatment planning, clinical documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

The five-year minimum applies to relevant pediatric clinical practice overall. Candidates must also demonstrate competence in the early intervention, infant feeding, and oral motor services they will provide.

Experience limited to adult rehabilitation, geriatric care, or adult feeding and swallowing treatment does not satisfy this role’s pediatric experience requirements.

Clinical responsibilities

Early intervention and caregiver support

  • Evaluate early communication, interaction, play, and language development in infants and toddlers.
  • Develop individualized goals that reflect the child’s developmental needs and family priorities.
  • Coach caregivers on strategies that support communication and participation during daily routines.
  • Collaborate with other providers involved in the child’s developmental care.
  • Contribute to individualized family service plans when applicable to the service arrangement.

Infant feeding and pediatric oral motor assessment and intervention

  • Conduct developmentally appropriate feeding evaluations using relevant history, clinical observation, and caregiver input.
  • Assess infant oral feeding skills and pediatric feeding development within demonstrated competence.
  • Evaluate oral motor function relevant to feeding, including lip, tongue, and jaw function and coordination.
  • Provide individualized oral motor intervention using approaches such as Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention when supported by documented training, clinical findings, and functional feeding goals.
  • Provide individualized feeding intervention and caregiver education.
  • Support progression of feeding skills, including transitions to developmentally appropriate eating and drinking activities.
  • Identify concerns requiring additional medical evaluation or specialized swallowing assessment and coordinate appropriate referrals.
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, occupational therapists, dietitians, lactation professionals, and other providers when indicated.

Speech, language, and communication

  • Complete comprehensive evaluations using appropriate standardized assessments, observation, language samples, caregiver interviews, and relevant records.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment for speech sound production, language comprehension and expression, and social and functional communication.
  • Adapt intervention to each child’s developmental level, interests, communication style, and support needs.
  • Support communication across family routines, learning, peer interactions, and community activities.
  • Provide AAC assessment and intervention when appropriate and within demonstrated competence.

Care coordination and documentation

  • Develop measurable plans of care and monitor treatment outcomes.
  • Complete reassessments and adjust treatment or discharge recommendations based on clinical findings.
  • Collaborate with the clinical director, other therapists, referring providers, and school teams when appropriate and authorized.
  • Complete timely evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries supporting medical necessity and accurate billing.
  • Coordinate required referrals, prescriptions, and authorizations with clinic staff.
  • Recommend consultation or referral for needs outside your current competence or the clinic’s available services.

Preferred areas of expertise

  • Advanced continuing education in infant feeding and family-centered early intervention.
  • Completion of Beckman Oral Motor Assessment and Intervention training, or comparable documented pediatric oral motor assessment and intervention training.
  • Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
  • Childhood apraxia of speech and other pediatric motor speech disorders.
  • Pediatric fluency disorders, including stuttering.
  • Pediatric outpatient practice and coordination with school-based services.

Candidates should identify their strongest clinical areas, specialized training, and any services outside their current competence.

  • Maintain professional liability insurance meeting the contractor agreement’s requirements.
  • Maintain current healthcare provider CPR/BLS certification that includes infant and child CPR.
